Depressive Disorders

Feeling sadness after a disappointment or loss is part of the normal grief process. One might feel sad after a special person has passed away, during a break-up, after failing a class, or after being rejected by others, for example. A Depressive Disorder, by contrast, involves sustained hopelessness, poor sleep, a lack of finding enjoyment in things that were once pleasurable, or difficulty concentrating. These symptoms can significantly interfere with your responsibilities and ability to function properly in life. If you are experiencing these symptoms and finding it difficult to function well in life, you might be experiencing a Depressive Disorder. Nonetheless, the good news is that Depressive Disorders can be helped.
